Dear Friends,

I have come to know that Pakistan has been declared as ‘Full Signatory’ of Washington Accord.
Does that mean that Pakistani Engineers can get assessed from Engineers Australia through Washington Accord Route?

Yes, that means Pakistani engineering students whose degrees were awarded on or after June 21, 2017 won't need CDR pathway and they can get their qualification assessed directly (through Washington Accord). Also they will save on CDR assessment fees as well.

One thing more (which I'm not 100% sure) is that through this way Pakistani engineering students will also be eligible for Subclass - Recognised Graduate visa 476 VISA.

Thanks.

This ll be good for new students starting next year. Not for who already graduated or already did first year. My uni got accredition in 2004 but i started in 2003 so i had to submit cdr.

Thanks for clarifying, I thought it would be effective for those who completed degree on or after 21st June, 2017.

Yes, those who will graduate after 21 June 2017 will get benefit.

I am not sure but heard somewhere that only four universities have got WA accreditation i.e UET Lahore, GIKI, NEDUET and NUST.
