I've been reading up on this subject .... my American wife (I'm in OZ) and I have done all the filing and just waiting after having completed our DS 261 (Agent app) for payment. Been 3 weeks and not a sound.

Read some alarming stuff about 6 to 12 months processing (FROM this point before we get a consulate appointment let alone the DS 260) courtesy of reduced staff resources and training.

Anyone care to share their opinions on this?

Go to visajourney. com and start a timeline. You will see the data for hundreds of couples, sorted by the processing site. In my experience (2 times), it has been extremely accurate.
