Hi,

We're trying to decide if we can be a 2 income family, or stay a 1 income for a few more years.
We have 3 year old twins.

How much do you pay a day for your child's nursery?
We're thinking of going to Melbourne or Brisbane (haven't decided yet).

Thanks.

Cheers,

Will you be on a PR visa or a temp visa ?

It could make a massive difference.

On a PR visa, you get rebates depending on your income. You could pay $10 a day or $100 a day, depending on many factors.

Hi,

Hubby is dual national Aussie and Brit. so I've applied for a spouse visa 309/100 we've been married for over 7 years so Im hoping they'll give me a PR but we don't know.

Thanks for your answer, we won't make any plans either way and see if it's possible only when we get there.

Cheer,

Are the children Australian by Descent ?
If so, then your Husband can claim the CCB and CCR anyway, so 'your' visa status is not important to this issue, although "partner provisional visa" is an acceptable status anyway.

In this case it only comes down to your income level.

Some Child Care Costs quoted in my local area 28th April 2009

Working Full Time:
  • 5 days costs $235.00 (without any Child Care Benefit CCB entitlement)
  • 5 Days costs $61.50 with 100% CCB entitlement
Not Working
  • 2 days costs $8.40
These prices are for one Child Care Centre in my area, in the Redlands, others may or may not be similar.
I have heard of places that are double those prices, in more affluent areas.

Hi,

Either way that is cheaper than here in the UK, nurseries where we live vary from £40 to £50/day for full days.

Thanks for your in puts!!
