I should know this, but I was just so worried about getting my documentation sorted I didnt even think...does this visa allow you to be covered by the NHS? Or do I need to purchase travel insurance for possible health expenses?

No insurance needed for medical cover, but you have to pay immigration health surcharge of £600 at the time of applying for your visa. You will be able to access NHS.

Hi,
Yes I am an Australian citizen...saves me some money then! I did do a health surcharge assessment when i went to do my bio-metrics and was exempt from paying as I am Australian. Thanks for clearing that up. One more question though, when I arrive I'll be looking for a job, am I covered by the NHS even though I wont be working in the beginning?
