If M30 is near you might've worth catching it to city or north shore and then bus/train to chattie..
Trains are not that regular but should take you max 30 minutes from Newtown if the connection timing is right. I would change trains in Redfern.

Weekly mymulty 1 should cover the whole trip and possibly be the best option

Hey thanks for that . Yes I would change at red fern . Would take 35 mins -40 mins. What I was wondering is this a normal commute time ? In the uk I dove but I don't have a car here. Dont want to take it and get sick of the travel but I've heard it's the norm in Australia ?

Trains are very slow. The whole railcorp is a sore in the state government eye. Same distance will take you 15 minutes if you are on any other line, but since you have to change lines you'll have to double it.

Busses are quite effective, but they are subject to traffic. It would probably take you same time on car due to traffic and cost you triple the cost.

That's a good commute time. A lot of people commute in range of an hour.
