Yes, you can get loads of British newspapers here (eg Daily Mail; the Independent; the Times; the Sun) - heck, I've even seen the Daily Record on sale in some places.
Of the local English-language papers, I personally find only the National worth the effort: the others are much of a muchness. The free daily tabloid 7 Days is good for a laugh though.
