Hi guys, how does PR card work ?
I recently met a consultant. He told me tht after obtaining canadin skilled immigration visa, it is necessary to visit canada within specified time period. And on entering canada, one can apply for PR Card. And as soon as he gets pr card, he can re visit canada for 1 year or 5 year, depending on validity of pr card.
And for citizenship, one must be present for 3 years in canada . Is my understanding correct.

I want to ask what if person has not stayed for 3 years. Will he have to apply for visa again from scratch ?
And how this period of 3 year is determined. Can any1 please share relevant knowledge

When/If granted PR status on e must be in Canada within one year of one’s medical. To retain PR Status one must reside in Canada for 730days in a five year period. For citizenship eligibility read the following:- Application for Canadian Citizenship: Adults - Subsection 5(1)
