I am in IT sector with > 10 years experience and plan to apply for PR via visa routes 189, 190 and 489.

My current scores for these visa types are (inclusive of state sponsorship points etc.) are as follows:

visa 189 - 55 points (not eligible)
visa 190 - 60 points (eligible)
visa 489 - 65 points (eligible)

My current IELTS score is 7.5 which gives me 10 points. I plan to appear for PTE soon which will fetch me 10 more points if I get a score of 79 in all modules. Than my scores will increse by 10 points and will be as follows:

My expected scores post PTE are as follows:
visa 189 - 55+10=65 points (eligible)
visa 190 - 60+10=70 points (eligible)
visa 489 - 65+10=75 points (eligible)

I will turn 44 years in another 14 months from now when I will lose 15 points for age.

I wish to know that :
1) What is the probability of landing a PR in 14 months timeframe if I start the process now with skill assessment etc.
2) What is the probability of landing a PR with my current scores
2) What is the probability of landing a PR with my scores, if I get 10 more points in my tally with PTE.

I highly appreciate any assistance.

You have a good prospect for 489. You may try South Australia 489 which is I am seeing on the thread is faster. With 489, you have to stay at least 2 years in the state and its a temporary residency visa. Many of my friends went to Australia with 489, and 2 years is not that long. Hope all will be good with you.

The key for PR is, don't wait for tomorrow, if you can, Apply Now.

1) Doable .... don't wait, JUST DO IT.
2) 190 is doable and not a bad option but why should you limit yourself to a particular state even if it is just for 2 years!
3) complete the PTE and highway 189 will be open which is quite straight all the way.
