On the computer - QWERTY keyboards are pretty cheap, and you can change the keyboard to just about anything you like, no matter what language you have for your operating system. (I have a laptop with an AZERTY physical keyboard, but have the keyboard set for a QWERTY one, as I'm a touch typist. (And I figure if anyone ever steals my laptop it'll annoy the heck out of them.)
One other trivia bit that might help - on Windows, if you get the "Professional" version of XP or Vista (either on a new machine here in France, or just the software), there is the option on installation to install in French (or whatever local language) or in English.
