I will be transferred by my company to paris along with my family for 2 years. is it possible to get my dependent mother to get a long term visa to stay with us in Paris. financial sponsorship will not be an issue

If she is a dependent member of your household, it should be fairly straight forward to get her a dependent visa when you and your family apply for your visas.

Thanks. How do I prove that she is dependent....one is her age (74 yrs)
she is dependent physically n emotionally not so much financially
She does draw pension after retirement... I guess it is wise not to mention that
Have u read or come across any such instance..that would be helpful.as in US where I was on a work permit I had to allways get her on a tourist visa

If she's not financially dependent on you, it might be easier for her to simply apply for her own visa - like a retirement visa. She's clearly not going to work, so she'd need a health insurance policy to cover her. But ultimately that might be the easier route to go if you want her to join you.

Bev
