Hi Everyone,

My husband and I are currently living in France and we are planning to move in England hopefully this year. We are thinking of going to Edinburgh, but we are still hesitating if its going to be easy for us to survive in there or in any other cities in England.. My husband is holding a British passport.. is there a great chance for him to find a job? is there lots of Job opportunities in Edinburgh? I am originally from Philippines and i am a bit worried that it might be hard for me to find a job there, i have previous experiences working in the restaurants/ and shopping malls as sales lady when i was in the Philippines..so you think is there a great chance for me even though i don't have uk experiences?

and also i want to know if there are cheap apartments in Edinburgh good for 2 people.. Not interested in sharing..

Any advice will be appreciated

Hi and welcome to the forum

Edinburgh is not in England it is the capital of Scotland.

The whole of the UK is experience a job shortage but if you husband has a skill that is needed then things will be brighter for him.

You need to be legally entitled to work in the U.K and your employer will check.
There are lots of hotels, tourists type work in and around Edinburgh who employ foreigner staff so you not having worked in the UK wont be a problem if you manage to find a job.

Edinburgh is expensive and it is cold as the North Sea is on it's shores.

Edinburgh is a really beautiful city, occasionally. Been referred to as the Athens of the North due to its architecture and history.

Weather wise it can be cold (due to the wind) but unlike the West of scotland it doesn't have as much rainfall
