Moving To Dubai.

Hiya...I know this question has been raised ALOT and I have searched the forum but they seem to be really old threads...but here's my situation..My boyfriend has been offered a job in Dubai starting in June and I will be hopefully relocating to be with him in Sep/Oct...now the question is this...I know its illegal to live with him..but we are going to do so but don't want to be obvious so the fake wedding ring will be worn and no parties or plate smashing arguements ..but I just wanted to know how many other people do this and with the visa run is it ok for an unmarried woman to go across the border to get another visa..and how easy it is to find a job for a western girl?
Please get back to me as I'm very new to this and obviously worried not just about moving to another country where none of my friends and family are and being basically left to my own devices with visa's and everything else..thanks x

Hello.

Having lived here for over 14 years I can tell you that you have very little to worry about. My wife and I lived in sin together for several years and she also found work easily. It's really not an issue unless you foolishly make it an issue.

No problem at all for you doing visa runs. Getting a job will depend on what kind of work you are looking for, just be aware that westerners tend not to work in shops, catering etc. as these kind of jobs are taken by other nationalities who will work longer hours and for less pay than a westerner will.

Ah thanks both of you!! It's so nice to have reassurance.....never moved anywhere before and it is really daunting...hopefully its easy to make friends etc...ah ok on the job front...but i dont really know what to do as being a air stewardess for many years not really sure where to start...decisions decisions..thankyou x
