Hi
I am ritish 31 years old, a qualified carpenter & joiner. I am have started my visa which is in process now. it is a skilled visa 176.

I am looking to work in the mines, a friend of mine works in the mines so will hopefully point me in the right direction.

My visa is for me , my wife and 2 sons. we have to live in the same state for 2 years out of the 5 to get residency. We live in thailand at the moment so if i can get work in the mines i will come on my own and go back to thailand every 4-5 weeks to see the family. if not we will all move together. If it is not possible to work in the mies then i will work as a carpenter in perth and settle there.

What is the hourly rate for a carpenter, i know it depends on where you live etc etc. the visa is going to take 9-12 months so there is plenty of time to get the right advice from people who have already been in this situation.

We are all excited about this new challenge

any advice would be appreciated.
