Hi everyone!
This is our first ever post on this forum. Thanks for your help in advance!
So, we plan to emigrate to Adelaide in 2018 to start our new dream life in Australia. We have two young boys - aged 5 and 3 - and we were wondering about school.
The mandatory age for starting school in South Australia is 6yrs and 6 months. However, our oldest will be due to go into primary three under the Scottish education system and our youngest in primary one.
What do we do about the difference? It would seem crazy for our oldest to have to repeat years 1 and 2. For our youngest, do we have to wait a year and a half before we can start his education?
Hope this all makes sense. Would love to hear any advice, especially from those who've had kids of the same age and moved to SA. How did you go about the difference?
All the best,
John
