Hi All,

Apologies if this has already been answered here somewhere, but struggling to find it if so.

Having PR in the bag I am moving to Perth with my wife and 2 kids in August. This has spurred my younger brother to also get his bum in gear look at his visa options.

He is just starting an apprenticeship in Motor Mechanics and is is looking to use this as the springboard for his visa in the future (appreciating the risk of course that MM could get removed from the SOL at some point).

I have found some mappings as to how UK NVQs equal Aussie AQFs, but wondering where Apprenticeships fit into this (how that are recognised is Aus) and basically what else would be needed on top of the Apprenticeship to satisfy the skills assessment criteria in terms of qualification and experience. And that is the main question here!

I had read somewhere that the VETASSESS skills assessment is equivalent to the NVQ III, so the NVQ is not required pre-assessment, but not sure if that is accurate.

Any input would be greatly appreciated.
