(sorry, feel like I've asked so many questions lately)

Because of this new surcharge and my visa now costing an extra £1000, I don't have enough time to save that much extra money before sending in my application. My boyfriend is giving me the extra money, but I just wanted to make sure that for ancestry visa that a monetary gift is allowed? Just asking as I know for some visas it has to be all your own.

If they didn't look at bank statements I wouldn't be concerned, but obviously they're going to notice a large sum being transferred into my account before I apply.

Yes, gift of money is permitted, provided you supply a letter confirming it's a gift and not a disguised loan.
