HI peeps. I'm moving to Quesada in July and popping over this week for a couple of days. I want to get a Spanish mobile to give out my contact number etc. the main usage will be data, emails and texting. Pay-as-you-go or contract? My dad has a spanish Vodafone Any recommendation gratefully received. X

I find the contract is less hassle as you don't have to worry about topping up. You usually get cheaper call rates than PAYG and a nice free phone thrown in. If you already have a decent phone in the UK you can get it unlocked and just buy a Spanish SIM card.

Contract is best but we found it very hard to get a contract at first. Most of the phone companies wanted you to already have an existing direct debit from your bank and proof of that before they would entertain you having a contract. Yoigo we have found to be the cheapest (contact or PAYG) and has excellent coverage.

We find Hits mobile on automatic top-up when it gets down to 5 euros balance is by far the best. Also the cost is only 5 cents per minute for auto top up and you can phone other hits users for free for the first 5 minutes! Also cheap to phone the UK,found them to be brilliant! :clap2:
