Mental Health Manager

Hi ! My husband had recently been offered a job in Dubai, but he has not even had an interview. Obviously this is worrying. How do we deal with only genuine employers and what should we look out for when dealing with recruitment agencies ? Very new to everything and most of the jobs we see would apply to registered general nurses rather than mental health nurses and so we realise finding the right job will take time, despite him being extremely qualified and experienced. Thanks in advance for all of your help.

Hi,
Welcome to the forum.
Obviously, alarm bells should be ringing if you get a job offer without any sort of interview.
It is illegal to charge candidates to get jobs in the UAE - so you need to lookout for "advance fee scams". This involves asking you to pay "processing fees" or ticket fees to a travel agency - with the promise of a refund when you arrive in the UAE.
Of course, the crooks take your money - no real job and no refunds.
Most of the hospitals in Dubai have HR departments and advertise jobs on their own websites - so try looking there.
Cheers
Steve
Hi ! The offer appears to have come directly from the hospital HR manager and have included a link to the organisation dealing with the visa application ? ?

Hi,
There are also plenty of scams with people pretending to be from the hospital and again directing you to visit another company to process the visa.
Your husbands offer sounds like one of these scams.
Hospitals don't need to use another company to process their visas - they do it themselves!
My wife is a hospital consultant - who has worked in both Dubai and Abu Dhabi - so i speak from experience!
Your husband can easily confirm the validity of his offer by first visiting the official website of the hospital and look at their careers page - many mention scams if their hospital has been targeted in this way.
He can then phone the hospital switchboard directly and speak to the HR department.
Cheers

Hi ! Thanks so much. That all makes perfect sense. Back to the drawing board for us.
