My wife six month old son and myself are moving to Melbourne late April and we have been trying to secure a rental property from the uk as a hotel isn't going to be suitable for our little one. It appears we face a few dilemmas in that we cannot inspect a property before we apply which most require. If it was just me and my wife it would be a hotel job but with a baby this seems unsuitable. Can anyone recommend any short term renting or any other solutions that may help our predicament. Thanks

I don't know if its any good, but might be worth checking out. There are other relocation agencies that offer the same type of thing. So you could google "melbourne australia relocation service" and find a few. Good luck! We're hoping to have our visa by July-ish, and move in October, so are doing similar research (we have a 6mo baby, and a 7yo).

Thanks for your advice we arrived in April and now wife has a new job in the CBD we are settling better good luck with your move and give us a shout when u get here !

We ended up in box hill south near Blackburn it's nice enough quiet but still a bit nuts for us we are small town peeps so we heading west side after all as working in CBD it's easier on public transport! When do you arrive and where u planning to settle?

Still waiting on the visa to be granted (CO has been allocated, medicals and PCCs uploaded, just a matter of time now, hopefully)). We're hoping to move at the end of September or in October, and are looking in the Werribee area (west of Melbourne). As soon as the visa is granted, will come over for a recon - I want to visit a few of the schools in the area. We'll pick where to live based on the school we pick for our 8yo.

Hi Xayla77 - will do! I've researched some schools, haven't finished making my "short list" yet (the ones I want to visit). Will share info here as it gets closer to when we move.

Aww thats crazy. I moved to box hill in January this year, and left at the start of April to move into the city. So close to swapping paths.
