Just made the appointment for our medicals (family of 4), and its going to be $1320 US. Lovely! They are scheduled for 29 May. Hopefully will have a CO assigned by then (filed for 176 on 8 May). Regardless, going to get our medicals done, and that will wrap it all up for us, no more pending documents.

Good news. It's just too bad any current health insurance coverage doesn't cover this! Did you already request for your police clearances? I know the FBI was the one that took the longest and was the one that delayed the processing. I just told my case officer that I wouldn't have it by the date he requested due to the long processing time.

What a bargain because I had to pay 500 bucks just for me. Speaking of which, I just tracked the package with the meds and they're now in Honolulu, Hawaii on its way to Sydney - I wish I could be inside that box! :D Cheers to us for having almost completed the journey :)

Stormgal,

Does that mean you are already moving to Australia? Also, which courier did you use to send medications to Australia?
I'm not sure when I'll move to Oz to be honest - but I hope during the beginning of the 5 years my visa will be valid for (if I even get the visa)

As for the meds, I never got the medicals, so didn't get a say with the carrier. The meds were sent by the panel doctor straight to Sydney - I never even got to see what was written on the report. The only thing they gave me (and that was only after I asked for it) was the tracking number. Apparently, the doctor's office chose FedEx.

Sorry Stormgal. I thought you sent over medical prescriptions (meds) to Sydney because you were already moving. For some reason, it didn't trigger to me that you meant medicals (medical exam results, etc) to Sydney. I must be tired from the work and not thinking clearly this evening. Yes, they never give the paperwork or what is written in the paperwork to the applicant to deter any fraud. They medical office just sends directly to Australia.

I believe I might have paid between $350-500 in total for everything. It's been 2 years so I can't recall. I was thinking it would be more than that just because I'm not used to paying for medical services without my health insurance covering it.

Yep, we already got our FBI and state of NC police clearance. So the medicals are the last docs to upload.

Yeah, the kids don't have to have xrays and they don't have to have blood drawn, so they are cheaper. Congrats re: your medicals being done and sent - very exciting!

Hey,

We've just been requested for Medicals too after waiting 2 days for a case officer:).

Myself, hubby & 11yr old have to get medical & xray and my 8 yr just has to get medical. We're looking at £900 for the 4 of us.

Nikki
