Hi,

I have a spouse visa and will be appplying for FLR(M) soon and I am reading about the NHS surcharge for non-EEA immigrants and I am wondering since with the recent changes non-EEA immigrants without ILR are no longer able to be considered as ordinarily resident in the UK, will pregnant women be charged for maternity services (including routine antenatal treatment) if they are unemployed (and have no maternity allowance)? Or does the health surcharge include this kind of treatment?

I am wondering about this because I am considering working as a freelancer and I don't know how this will impact our plans to have a family. If my husband is a UK national with permanent employment does this change anything?
