Hi folks,

I was just wondering what the relaibility of the post system was like from the UK, bear in mind I've worked out of Mombassa in the past so have experienced a very bad service!!

There are some things that would be brilliant to export out because of the 17.5% VAT discount.

One of the suppliers I'm likely to want to use uses UPS and it seems to work out at about £5 per kilo

Thanks

Ian

Rather than using a courier service, look at getting Aramex Shop&Ship accounts. You can have most things delivered to your door (excluding food, liquids, jewellery) and costs start at Dhs 39 for the first half kilo. Items are sent to your Aramex PO Box in the UK or US and you get them at your door between 3-5 days later.

Have a look at the Aramex website.

Hmmmm, thats interesting, thanks for the tip.

Will items sent this way incur VAT? If its a UAE address its treated as export so does not incur VAT

Is there an import tax that would be applied? Its actually for some mountain bike bits and bobs fom chainreaction.com

Thanks again

Ian
