Looking for friends in Bayside, Melbourne

2493 Views 8 Replies 5 Participants Last post by  All good
Hi,

I moved to Brighton, Melbourne with my husband Giles (34) and 4 year old son Isaac in November 2009 from Bristol, UK. We are moving into a house next week and I am keen to meet people who also live in Bayside now that we have decided to settle in this area. Would love to also find friends for Isaac to play with when he's not in Kinder. My name is Sarah and I'm 31, used to work in Human Resources but currently taking time out to spend with Isaac before he goes to school next year. Giles is a Business Development Manager and starts his new job on Monday so Isaac and I will be available for coffee and play dates if anyone is interested? Thanks, take care, Sarah :)

I'd delete your email address from the forum - otherwise you'll get spam mail. I have made a note of it.

Also in Bayside

Hi, we are also in Brighton and moved at the end of January. I have a 4 year old girl and would love to meet up. How is best to arrange?

Please keep communication on the forum where possible so that all the members can learn about areas and life in Australia. The reason this works so well is that everyone shares info - thanks.

Hi

I'm not in Brighton yet but will head that way in August / September and would love to meet up then.

I have just tried to send you a 'private message' but it wont let me as it says you cant receive them - I dont know if that's just because you are new or because you have opted not to receive them.

send me a private message if you like and I'll reply. I know its good to stay on the forum where possible but I dont think you should publish private email addresses on it and I would be wary of posting details of when and where we / our children are meeting up.

Hope you are enjoying Brighton - I cant wait to be there

I agree that you shouldn't post private email addresses on the forum and I would suggest that if you are going to meet anyone from a forum then you need to take precautions anyway! I would also say that if you are going to meet up with a stranger why not make it several strangers and get a meeting going? You can set up groups on this forum and I believe that people would have to be registered to see the info - you can check on this before doing it. One of the mods tried to get a meeting going before but as we all know Aus is a big place :)

Karen

LOL. I do agree, but they are all talking of Brighton, probably in the price range of about 1% of the forum visitors.

Brighton is great, and full of British! Every third person you bump into around Bayside is probably going to be British. You wont struggle to form a group of expats there.

Good luck!
