Hello,
My husband and I moved to France two months ago and are enjoying life in Arles so much.
I have a question about long term care insurance. Though we would like to think that we would never need it, we do need to prepare for the possibility that one or both of us would require long term care for an extended period of time.
We have read several articles about long term care insurance and understand that about 15% of the French population has it, so we know it is available here.
I wondered if someone could suggest where to begin to research and secure this type of insurance.
Would anyone be able to recommend a company/agent (assuming this complies with the Forum rules)?
Finally, I do want to ask one question about the health care system in France.
I understand that we do not have access to it. However, as I understand it, if our visa is renewed for five consecutive years, then we become permanent residents. If this is the case, would we then be eligible to use the French health care system?
Thank you!
