Depending on your current qualifications you may be able to have transferred into NVQ equivilants through NARIC. They have a website.
Levels and qualifications for foreign people

It's been about 7 months since I moved to the UK from Mexico. I have written here about how hard the process was being for my kids but now I seem to be the one in trouble.
I still haven't found a job and I am always hesitant when applying because I have no idea what they mean with all the qualifications they ask for. I obviously didn't study here so I never took the GCSE exams. I have a degree in advertising but it has nothing to do with levels, etc.
I get the feeling everything I've studied in the past is useless and same with my extensive experience in hospitality, leisure and travel. I get the feeling all is worthless if you don't show the employer that you have all those levels, GCSE results and what not, am I right?
I feel lost and don't even know if I can get all those diplomas or qualifications they ask for. Do I have to go back and study?
