I left France in April 2014 and never closed my bank account. I still have some euros in my account and am trying to figure out what to do since my debit card expires in September. I have no idea how to reach my bank, I've tried calling a bunch of phone numbers I found online but everyone says they don't have access to my account while I can log in online fine and view my balance and things. My account is with credit agricole.

Can you not use your card to withdraw the money left in your account?

Then you can either leave it (but no doubt the bank will contact you if there are any fees due to them) or write saying you no longer wish to keep the account going. Address should be on your statements.

Normally, to close an account in France you have to advise the bank in writing (registered mail, even). In that letter, tell them what you want them to do with any remaining balance in the account (i.e. send you a cheque or transfer it to another account). The banks did away with the account closing fee a few years back.
Cheers,
Bev
