Last Minute Flights from the UAE

Hi all

My parents are coming from the UK to visit in February. It is their intention to stay here for a week during half-term then go off somewhere else for a week after RJS80 and myself return to school. They have decided to wait until they get here to decide where to spend the second week of their holiday.

My question is: would they be better off booking in advance (ie now) or waiting until the last minute for special offers. In the UK, there is quite a culture of last minute special offers when it comes to flights, but that doesn't seem to be the case here. Any opinions/experience?

Many thanks in advance.

I believe they will need that ticket in advance before getting on the flight in the UK. Without the resident visa they show some sort of intent to stay in the UAE, so the attendants in the UK will ask where their continuing flight is to. At least they always ask for mine when I am returning to Dubai no matter where I am at.
They already have return tickets between Manchester and Dubai - they are planning on going from Dubai to somewhere else then back to Dubai before returning to Manchester, if you see what I mean. Apologies - I didn't make that clear! But thanks anyway for the answer, much appreciated.

The latest I have booked for a flight in UAE is one day before the journey and had to pay much higher than what I would have paid if I had booked earlier.
This is just a one time experience so cannot be generalised
Also I am yet to come across a website which gets me cheaper tickets out of UAE than what I would get if I directly book the ticket online
