Is it possible for my boss to impose a labor ban on me even if I finish my contract?Because last week he tried to impose it to one of the employees who did not renew her contract. On what grounds can he do that?

There is a non compete clause of 6 mos in our contract, could that be it?

There are several ways out of a labor ban. The easiest is to work in a free zone, others include getting a job that pays a certain minimum higher than your current salary, or having a range of professional qualifications (doctors etc.).

I may be wrong, but a no-compete only applies if you look to work for a competitor company and cannot be used for a labour ban, especially if the contract is completed.

Hopefully someone with more knowledge on the labour law can provide more accurate information.
