My wife has just received here E3 visa approval and I have received my E3D approval. My current employer in Australia wants to keep me on staff if they can while i live in the USA. They want me to consult as i do now in my role so i would be working on Australian projects for an Australian company but living in the USA.

Is this even possible?

So that means I would still need to quit my current Australian job otherwise I am technically still working and being paid before getting work authorisation.

Thank you for those links. It seems like a very grey area.

It's seems like you could legally do it but if it came to the crunch and they started chasing you, you would need a good lawyer to fight your case. You would most probably win but it would be a costly exercise.

There is neither crunch nor grey. You have EAD - you can legally work.

You will find all I formation pertaining to EAD on the site of uscis.gov.
