Job market for qualified accountants

Hi,

I am hoping some one can assist me and my husband aswe have just come back from our holiday in Dubai and loved loved loved the place. :) and now want to move there!

We are both CIMA qualified with c5years accounting and finance experience, I work for a leading bank in the UK and my husband for one of the largest FMCG in the UK. We are not sure much we can expect to be paid, and what the market is like at the moment. Will companies help with relocation costs? We have tried looking on the net, but it is slightly confusing. Also does any one know what the normal hours and holiday days are? We would be happy to live in Dubai but work in Abu Dhabi too.

If any one can offer any advice, it would be sooooo appreciated!

Thank you in advance

You'll most likely find it very hard to get a job without being based here first. I applied for dozens of jobs I was more than qualified for and didn't get a single response to any of them while I was based in the UK.

Companies will prefer to hire locally so they don't need to deal with relocation issues and applying for new visas. You'll probably find you'll only get a good relocation package if you're going for a senior management position.

Normal hours are pretty much comparable with the UK 8.30/9 - 5. Working week is Sunday to Thursday and a typical holiday allowance would be 20 days plus the 12 or so public holidays.
