I am a 54 year old American who is eligible to retire from an excellent university next year. I am an Information Technology Developer, or programmer specializing in an Oracle product called PeopleSoft.

I have visited France a few times, and I would like to move there and work a few more years. Toulouse seems attractive since it is a technologyYour input center.

Most of the job listings I find on-line are headhunter sites of which I am somewhat dubious.

Does anyone have any recommendations? Should I be researching specific companies? Are there productive employment websites?

I am an intermediate level French speaker.

Your input is appreciated!

Regards,

Tom

Coming from the US, I wouldn't avoid the headhunter sites quite so readily. Besides your age, you have a big disadvantage in that you will require a work visa in order to work in France. A good headhunter can smooth the way for that, whereas if you approach the company yourself, the need for a visa may get your CV tossed in the "no" pile right away.
Cheers,
