Hi ,
Based on the rules now, does medical check a mandatory one for the non migrant family members, while applying 189 or 190 visa.

Nope...but family unit is considered different here:

Spouse, children are dependent family members, where as a widowed parent can be considered as a dependent... if both parents are alive then they depend on each other and will not be under family unit

Thnaks. Do you mean Non migrant dependent family members doesnt require a medical check?

Changes to the health requirement

From 01 July 2017, the health requirement for non-migrating family members has changed. Family members who are not applying for the visa (non-migrating family members) are no longer required to undergo a health examination unless requested to do so by the Department.

Updated information on the health requirement is available on the Department’s website at Health examinations and My health declarations.
