I am planning to move to sydney in june 2012.

I am looking forward for an initial accomodation.. Shared / PG. How much would it cost me...and can i book it before I reach there. I would prefer any suburb which has more of indian grocery stores and restaurants...

any expert advices... ?

We are staying in a temporary studio apartment in downtown Sydney, and it's very nice. I don't think I can be much help with shared units, but you can check out Accommodation Sydney as a start. Their studios are $198AUD to $80AUD/night, depending on the length of your stay. We were able to reserve the room before we left, which really cut down on the stress once we knew we had a place to live for the first 30 days while we were apartment hunting.

You could also check out gumtree, which is a classified listing similar to craigslist, and you might find a shared unit there. That would be working with a private individual, however, so it might not be ideal.
