Would it not be easier to ask your father's wife? She will know which notaire is dealing with the estate.

I wonder if anyone on the forum could help me or point me in the right direction regarding my current position.
I am from the UK. my late farther and his second wife both also from the UK owned property in France. Now that my farther has passed away I have been told by various people that I may in French law have a claim on his estate. any information would be greatly appreciated.
