Hi,
Could any1 pls tell me what is the exact diff between these 2 visas (except points test of 120 & 100) ?

1> Which Visa takes minimum time to get processed?
( I have heard that Sponsered visa takes minimum time approx. 6 months)

2> Incase of Sponsered (relative) visa , what are the liabilities of sponsorer?
(Does the sponsor (Aussie citizen) have to pay some extra fees to DIAC, or he/she have to show some amount of bank balance)

3> I just touch 120 points list and have relative in OZ (citizen) can sponsor me....... in my case for which visa I should apply?:confused2:
(Which 1 is more likely to be processed soon, I want to migrate ASAP) :plane:

Pls help n suggest if I am having incorrect concepts. :focus:

Dear Gaurav,

For 176 family sponsored, the applicant must be sponsored by an immediate family member who is an Australian citizen or permanent resident, he/ she should be your close relative like child, parent, siblings, niece/nephew, uncle/aunt.

If you do not have immediate relatives in OZ then you might look for 176 State Sponsored Visa, which you can then request sponsorship from a state, thereby reducing the requirements for a skilled visa. The sponsoring state will require the you to work and reside in that state for a minimum period of time, usually 2 years.

176 - sponsored visa gets priority processing and so does CSL. BTW, did you got your skills assessed?

In any case, you will have to get your skills accessed by respective assessing body like ACS/ Australian Engineer / VETACCESS and pass IELTS exam with good score.

Regards,

I have close relative, who is Aussie citizen and residing in Queensland.

I am going to apply for ACS on 1st Dec09. (as I will complete my 4 Yrs of professional exp on 30th Nov09)

I am applying for Information Technology Manager skill assessment, so not sure whether I am eligible for Sate sponsored visa. (I think they demand 6 Yrs of exp)

I have appeared for IELTS and scored band 7.

Eligible relative sponsor obligations
An eligible relative sponsor is required to sign a sponsorship undertaking.

This is an agreement to provide:

adequate accommodation and/or financial assistance as required to meet their relative's living needs during their first two (2) years in Australia
other support, such as child care, to enable their relatives to attend English language classes
information and advice (including information about employment in Australia) to help their relatives settle in Australia.
The two (2) year period starts from the date the applicant enters Australia as a holder of this visa.

Apart from this obligation, do the sponser have to pay some extra fees ????

for financial assistance they might have to show assets in their name/financial statements.

Hello anjali,
So my sponsor do not have to pay any sort of fees/charges right?

What is the average processing time for this Relative Sponsored skilled visa? (any guesses)

Thanks

I dont think, why dont u speak to an agent gaurav.
I tried, but all of them insist to register first.
My relative didn't had any good exp with agents, so he insisted me to apply on my own.
I can get guidance from him, but I wish to get some independant views from this forum and other sites.

I got following info from Immi.gov.au

What you need to apply for Sponsored visa
At the time you apply for this visa, you must meet all of the following requirements:

1.you are under 45 years of age
2. you have paid the correct visa application fee
3. you have lodged your application with the Adelaide Skilled Processing Centre (ASPC)
4. you meet the English Language threshold
5. you have obtained a positive skills assessment from the relevant assessing authority for your nominated occupation
6. you meet the recent work experience requirement or have met the Australian study requirement in the six (6) months before lodging your application.

All is fine, but what is point no 3 ??????...........pls help

thanx

you file your application with ASPC, thats where all applications are filed for skilled independent visas, dont bother with that, you application will go direct to Australia unlike the regular holiday visas which go to VFS in your city.

gaurav when u apply u need to give all documents that u give to the assessment body. along with that, u give passport copy, assessment proof, ielts score proof, and detailed updated CV. the pcc and meds should ideally be done when asked for as they have a valifity period and your initial entry date depends on the PCC date and the meds date (usually one yr form the date u get these done)

no once u get a CO, you can probably think of it but these days the applications have no set time for processing unlike how it was a year or two back. so it is not suggested, better to be a month late thn to spend twice for the tests/PCC if it expires

Dear Sutha,

I think you should hurry up for relative/ state sponsorship as with recent changes, most applicants would try to opt for sponsorship.

As far as I see... relative sponsorship is your best bet now..
