Hi guys

So my wife will soon be completing the end of her 2nd 2.5 year stint on the spouse visa (post 2012 version).

How does it work for when she can officially apply for her ILR? Is it 28 days from : the visa expiry? before exactly 5 years she entered the UK? or before exactly 5 years she received the visa?

I just wondered, so that we can proactive. Any advise will be great.

One of the requirements is that you have completed 24 months (under Part 8) or 60 months (under Appendix FM) with leave to enter or remain as a partner or parent. That period runs from the date on which you entered the UK with a visa in the relevant category; or, if you did not enter the UK with such a visa, from the date on which you were first granted leave to remain in the UK in the relevant category.

As you can apply up to 28 days before the relevant date, you can apply from 28 days before 5th anniversary of your UK arrival.
It will be different if you switched from another leave or from fiancé visa.
