Hello

Query:

If i land in Australia and continue working for my Indian Employer then what income tax rules will apply to me? Will it be from India OR Australia?

If Indian income tax is deducted then what do i need to declare to Australian Government? Will there be again taxation on amount left after Indian income tax?

Please clarify.

I'll take an example. Lets say my Indian in hand salary is 1 Lakh INR per month after Indian income tax. How much will i get after doing the work for same Indian company by being in Australia. I understand that for a family of 2 members we need minimum income of 2500-3000 AUD per month.

Suggestions please.

If you are an Australian resident, you will pay tax here on any income you earn, from anywhere in the world.

While your income may be assessed, and tax might also be paid in India (no idea about that) you should be able to get an equivalent credit from India if that happens, as Australia and India are signatories to a dual taxation agreement.

The purpose of dual taxation agreements are to make sure you're not taxed for the same income in both countries: http://www.austlii.edu.au/au/other/dfat/treaties/1991/49.html

You should talk to a good tax accountant that can help you with this.
