Hi,

its coming up to apply for my partners F-LRM visa.

I have recently left work and opened my own business.

i am on a £20k salary paid through payroll from my own limited company.

i get monthly payslips and paid from my business bank account into my personal account.

Is this sufficient proof of income that i am on payroll, or are there separate rules for being paid by your own limited company?

on top of this, my partner also works regularly and earns £10k per year on her current visa.

is her income taken into account?

appreciate support from one of those in the know.

thanks

You should read the following document carefully - Specifically Section 9 which deals with self employment:

https://www.gov.uk/government/uploa...708/Appendix_FM_1_7_Financial_Requirement.pdf

One of the first requirements mentioned is that accounts for the full financial year relating to the application must be presented as evidence of fulfilling the financial requirements.

If you have only recently started your own business, it is likely you won't qualify to use self employment to fulfill the financial requirements for the application.

thank you for the reply,

this is the difference which confuses me.

i am not self employed.

i am employed by my own limited company.

i receive regular income and my business receives the profit.

self employed requires a person to submit tax returns.

i am Pay(E) through my company payroll.

In which case the requirements from sections 9.7 onwards (Director of specified limited company) will probably apply, and as per 9.7.1 you can apply under Cat A or B if the rest of the requirements are fulfilled for Directorship of Limited company are fulfilled.
