Important Note - only for INDIAN Married Guys PCC

guys when ever you required to go for PCC.
What most of Married guys are facing is ,

they don't have spouse name in each other passport.

So they are not even allowed to make application for PCC.

First they required to make new passport for them.
and this new passport requires lot of task like

--Need to fill change of circumstances.
--Need to get new PVC - Police Verification Certificate Again

Good Luck guys.

Thanks

but no where PCC has this as requirement. probably it depends on passport office you are dealing with. few PSK ask for a letter from concerned department that they need a PCC for applicant.
where is yours done?

spouse name inclusion in passports AFAIK is needed when you apply for your kids passport that too any one of the parent can have spouse name included.

but thanks for the heads up, i have our names included in each other passports and applied for PCC on 5th March. BTW, what document do they ask for? Our police verification was done 2 months back only for reissue so I think on the spot we will get PCC stamped.

I did my PCC in Ahmedabad ,Gujarat. , may be it depends on office..but i am sure.

Well, you need

- Original PVC
- Passport - (they will take this and courier it with 3 -5 days you will get it)
- 3 Photos
- Letter from CO asking PCC
- Document Check list where your spouse, all applicant name is there.
(take screen shot, print of page from where we are checking our status)
- 2 address proof. - 1-1 copy . (may be they don't ask)

Thanks

1. What is Original PVC? when they do verification they just get signature and document copies from us atleast in Tamil Nadu they do it so. Can you pls explain?

2. When I went to PSK for reissue, the granting officer said if in their system it says police verification report received and currently there is no change of address they do PCC stamping on the spot. if address is different or there is no report received by them earlier they do verification again and take our passports.

3. Photos are fine.

4. Well, I am planning to do front loading of PCC, so I will not have the letter. From this forum I see only Gujarat office is asking for such a document but I will have to check in my place as well.

5. Document Check list??? Why do they need this at all? In the passport India page under doc advisor they didn't mention any such thing needed...I will chk on this one also.

6. I read in the govt site that only if address is changed they may ask for address proof else not...

thanks again Rakesh. The issue is whenever I call the PSK customer care, they just say some recorded type of responses which serves no purpose. they at last end the call that it is upto the office you are dealing with. so every time I have to personally visit the passport office to get to know what they really want.

True

Heads Up Married guys,

Its true that you have to include your spouse name in Passport if you need PCC from Passport Office.
Secondly there wont be any endorsements on the existing passport, infact you will get a new passport. If anyone has any valid visas on the old passport, dont panic, your new pp will be linked to your old pp.
I suggest all, to apply in advance for PCC.Its no longer one day process.
Btw I am from Punjab and my PSK is at Chandigarh.

You mean for PCC you will get a new passport? No this is not true at least in Tamil Nadu PSK. On your last page it will be endorsed and a letter will be given to you.

In Gujarat you will get a new passport...
Its frustrating that every state has a different set of rules/regulations for something as small as a PCC...

I had a similar experience in Hyderabad.

My wife and I didn't have spouse name on passport and we went for PCC. They said PCC can be issued but marital status on PCC will be single, and that we should first get that done.

I later found out that marital status has no bearing on the issued PCC. I applied for re-issue and I am getting my passport tomorrow.

The initial entry date is decided by the Medical/PCC...
i.e., the initial entry date is one year from the Medical or PCC date(which ever comes earlier).
e:g: If you have done the Medicals on 22nd March 2012 then your inital entry date will be 21st March 2013.
I guess the PCC validity is one year..
