Hello guys,

I'm applying for my spouse visa in Rio with all the basic documentation, but today I received an email from the consulate asking for more documents such as a letter of motivation, saying where we met, how, proofs of cohabitation before or after the marriage, if I know the whole family...

Is it a normal procedure or they grew up suspiscious by any chance?
Of course our relationship is legitimate so I'm thinking about sending photos of the marriage and with the whole family who was there.
Maybe photos of us during the relationship as well?

I can't imagine why they're asking this so I'm asking for your help to understand.

Thank you very much and any help would be much appreciated!

Hey, thanks for your help!
My husband and I married in France two weeks ago and came to Brazil to apply for my visa.
We also gave the livret de famille, married in France and did everything in France
I wonder why they are asking us this, wanting to get to know about our relationship.

We will provide everything they're asking anyway, I just would like to know if and why they can get suspicious for something legitimate.

Thanks again both of you for helping me with this!

Alright, Bev. Thanks for the info. Hopefully everything will run smoothly after I send the documents.

One last question:
Shall I take the documents to the embassy or can I just reply the email with everything attached? I sent them this question and they haven't replied but I want to figure this out till tomorrow!

Thanks and thanks again! :)
