Hello
I am hoping this forum can help me. I am an Australian citizen living in the UK on an ancestry visa and believe I am eligible for ILR next year. I am beginning to prepare and my questions are as follows:
1. I arrived in the UK 10 days after the commencement of my visa, this means that when I hit the 5 year mark I will be 10 days short of the full five years. Is this a problem?
2. My wife joined me as a dependent on my visa one year after my arrival so she will have been here about 4 years when I become eligible. Can she still apply at the same time as me or do we have to renew and wait for her to hit the full five years?
3. My wife is an Indonesian national. She speaks good english, we met while she was studying in Australia. Does she need to take an English language test on making an application for ILR and if so which one?
Thanks very much in advance for any assistance you can provide.
Kind regards
