Hi all,

I hope u all good and well. I am applying for spouse visa and i have so many issues and scared as well. In july 2010 someone used my name while getting fined from police. its related with the traffic violation. my landlord gave me those letter in november 2011 and this is when i found out my name and address is used in order to avoid traffic violation fine. i contacted the court in bow church and they said i have to do a statutory declaration. I was busy those days because my final exams and dissertation date was approaching. In between i have to flew back home because of my dad's health, he was admitted in the hospital. I then contacted authorities from here and court as well but they want me to come there and sort this out while being in UK. Is this going to affect my application and i also checked online that fine was 650 and now rose to 3045 pounds. I even don't have driving license and never owned a car in UK. The fine was given to that person because he/she failed in providing his/her ID. Even my given name is wrong. My name's spelling is Shehzad Khan and he gave shazad Khan. I hope authorities have taken his/her picture and fingerprints. and yes when i contacted authorities they gave me information about the car but at the moment i am concerned about my visa application. I will deal with this as soon as i land in UK. Your help will be appreciated...

I really feel you ought to sort out the accumulated traffic fine before applying for your visa. Is there any way you can return briefly to UK and see to it? Otherwise you may be on some kind of wanted list for unpaid fine and may get your visa application rejected.

the problem is y should i pay for it when i haven't done anything wrong. this was done by someone else and fine is issued to me. the officers first need to confirm that who is dis convicted person and u know what the letter also says "fail to give information re driver's identity as required". i also can't pay this huge amount. i am applying tomorrow and hope for the good. there is no other way that i can go to UK and sort this problem out. I sent my wife too to the court but they want me there for statutory declaration. I called them too but again they want me there. I can't do anything now. But i swear as soon as i get there i am gonna sue this person for making me so stressed. The only information authorities have provided me is name of the car and number plate which i think is enough for me. I just have to get there and i am just praying and hope that while giving him/her fine, authorities have taken his/her picture and fingerprints. My name on the letter is Shazad Khan and my name on the passport is Shehzad Khan. I have also contacted the court so that may come out on the record that i am trying to sort out this problem. Thanks for the reply Joppa. U always have been very helpful..
