Hi All,

Today I got my IELTS score and the overall score band is 7.5
However, Iam looking for Aus PR, wherein they asked 7 in each band.
But unfortunately, I got 6.5 in Writing and 7+ in remaining.

Wanted to know if they consider 6.5 as 7.
I knew its silly to ask, but as a newebie, asking this query.
Kindly help me with the question.

Also, can you help me the list of countries which accept 6.5 points.

Unfortunately Aus will not accept 6.5 as 7. You will be graded as Competent (min. 6) which gives 0 points. You can give another attempt or remark.

Generally it does not work out. It varies, in India it's around 5-6k for British Council and 7.5K for IDP. Let me repeat, in 95% cases it DOES NOT work out. But there have been cases. And since the cost is so high people prefer to write it again. It takes about 1.5 months to get it verified. If the result does change then the revaluation fees is refunded. It can only change, if ever, in two sections, writing and speaking.

I am preparing for PTE now, but i find PTE reading and listening sections tougher than IELTS.

They WILL NEED 7 each in ALL 4 skills...

6.5 would not be considered....as 7....

So either go for remarking....or Book another slot for IELTS.....THE BEST would be book an PTE-A slot...as people seem to clear it with no fuss and are getting the desired results...
