I am plaining to apply for 175 visa along with my wife. I need to ask wheter she needs to sit within IELTS exam before I log my application or can I submit her IELTS results lated for instance when CO'll ask for additional fees (2nd installament)

Secondly what is the minimum band requirnment for secondty application (spouse)

Hello,
You will need to submit the IELTS score for the secondary applicant when the CO asks for it. Alternatively, if you can produce a letter from the institution your spouse attended her schooling/college that the medium of instruction was English then you don't have to pay the second installment.

Minimum score for secondary applicant is 4.5.

Please keep in mind that CO gives only 28 days time for submission of all the documents. You may request for more time provided you show substantial proof that you have indeed applied for the required documents and waiting for them (say, IELTS result). Better be prepared.

No, 28 days after the allocation of the CO.

Note that IELTS is not needed if you wife studied in English medium.

All education doesn't have to be in english medium either. Refer to this page for details

My wife has just given exam on 16th May and result is expected on 29th May. I thought of applying for the VISA meanwhile and upload the results afterwards. But I am stuck on the question where "Has the applicant undertaken an English language test within the last 36 months?"
What option should I choose Yes or No.

If I choose YES, it asks for Test Ref No and if I choose else then it would be wrong information.


Seniors please advise on this.

Not required. College/University letter will suffice.

College/University letter will suffice instead of IELTS for co-applicant. Letter has to mention that the medium of education was in English and the education duration was of minimum 2 years.
