Hello everyone,

This forum has been of great help. Thank you everyone. Appreciated.

I have a question and will be be great if anyone can reply in this regard.

I am a medical graduate from Nepal and have currently valid family visit visa to UK. My question is can I sit for IELTS exam in UK/if possible PLAB too while I am in UK.

Thank you.

As a visa national, you need a special PLAB test visa to take the test. Normal visit visa isn't enough, as you may do a period of clinical attachment which will also be covered by PLAB visa. I hear UKVI is getting strict about issuing PLAB visa so make sure your documents are complete. Guidance at VAT15 under UKVI.

Thank you so much Hertsfem and Joppa for information. I that case it will better to apply for settlement visa(as my husband has an ILR). Still wondering will it valid or not if I sit for IELTS in UK center. Further inputs, if any will be highly appreciated. Thank you.

Settlement visa will more-or-less allow you to do anything, incl PLAB test.
