Which State are you applying for work in?
How many jobs have you applied for?
How long has it been since you applied?
Are you applying for jobs with big companies?

Also have you prepared a CV that is In an Australian format? When we were in the UK we had to change our CVs to look for work.

I do agree with Louisam.
If you still insist attempt before the hand, follow the below steps.

1. Search job sites and find out the real openings ( There are many agencies post the job repeatedly, but real requirement exists)
2. Apply online and try to send the details to direct emails if you find one.
3. Call the agencies or companies immediately after applying and tell them your interest on this job
4. Discuss more and find out whether you can convince by being in India and your travel dates that are planned.

Better luck for your job hunt and let me know if you need any more guidance.

Thanks I saw my manager too found job before landing 3 yrs back
The situation at the current is entirely different than 3 years.
Job market is so competitive than before and need more research to step in to 1st job in Australia now.

keep applying to all the seek listings relevant to your profile, see how they respond.
If you get calls and interviews, it really means your profile is in demand at the given point of time. otherwise, it means that you have to come over and try.

I was fortunate to get a couple of offers before arrival, but most of the people I know have come over and have got offers in less than 2 months on an average. The whole recruitment process here is slow on an average compared to India or anywhere else.
