For applying a VISA you don't need to show any money to the DIAC. You need to know how much your VISA will cost and what are the other costs like skills assessment, Panel clearence certificates etc.

Check out here for detailed fees applicable for the VISA.

The only amount of money you need worry about (other than the cost of the visa) is how much you will need to live here. For that check out the sticky threads at the top of the forum - they will give you what you need to start.

Hello,

the costs are divided into the following:
1- Skills Assessment (around AUD $450)
2- Application fees ( AUD $2525)
3- Medicals ( it depends on country, in Egypt it's AUD $150 per person)
4- Migration agent fees (if you use one)

For a family of three, the minimum (and i mean just basics in minimum) expense is 2000-2500/month. they suggest you get atleast 6 months backup. it takes approximately 2-6 months to get a job.
