My family has applied for a long-term visa and have been asked to provide proof of housing for the full year. Does anyone have advice on how to secure a year-long lease in the Cote d'Or/Burgundy area without yet having the visa? I have been looking on seloger.fr and pap.fr and will be calling some of the realtors listed there, but wanted to see if others had additional ideas/resources. Thanks.

Are you looking for furnished or unfurnished accommodation? There are significant differences in the rules for renting between the two - and frankly what you're looking for is probably going to have to be furnished.

This requirement for housing for your full term in France has just started coming up lately. If you don't mind my asking, which consulate are you going through? And, what type of long-stay visa are you applying for? (Visitor, student, C et T, some other type?)
