Hi
My wife received her Settlement visa issued at Sheffield. Only the Home Office Stamp and VAS no with date was stamped. Is that the latest style for Nigerians?

Settlement visa is in the form of a vignette containing your photo and visa details stuck to a passport page.
What does the stamp say?

Are you sure you applied for a spouse settlement visa? Validity? Conditions?
It does seem like some sort of a mistake. UK border force staff presented with such a stamp will have very little to go on (I suppose they can dig into visa database and find out - but they don't really have to do that). And what about the airline check-in staff looking for a valid visa for UK? She may not even be allowed to board the flight.

ECB9.1 Types of entry clearance

An entry clearance takes the form of a stick-in vignette which is placed in the passport or travel document.

Yes we applied for spouse settlement visa. They denied her and i appealed. Home Office changed their mind and asked her to send her passport for visa to be issued.
After some few days they called from Nigeria for her to pick her passport.
A friend said that's the new method for Indefinite visa for Nigerians.

I doubt it. As a visa national, you won't even get past the airline staff to board the flight for UK with that.
And it's not an indefinite visa is it? Or did she qualify under the old rules?

I suggest you send an email query to visa station in Nigeria to clarify it.

Thanks Joppa for your time. I'll send them an e-mail. So the Settlement Visa or Indefinite Visa supposed to be issued in Nigeria? But Sheffield asked for the passport to be sent to them for Visa to be issued.

You should always contact the visa station you originally applied at.

You mean you've found the visa sticker in her passport?
What is the 'valid from' date? She should be in UK within 3 months of that.

Yes she has found it. The valid date is 5th Nov 2013. To Aug 2016. Thanks for your advise and time
