Dears,

First of all I am happy to see that I can post immediately after registering, unlike enz.org where I created an account in Feb and it's still in the queue for activation. So +1 for immediate activation :)

I have received my result for Pre-assessment from NZQA as follows:
"On the information available, the New Zealand Qualifications Authority (NZQA) assesses this qualification as comparable to the learning outcome of a qualification at Level 7 on the New Zealand Qualifications Framework."

Now, I need some help with EOI application, specially the section where I have to fill in my qualification details.

Section F3a. Is this qualification included as an exact match* on the List of Qualifications?
Or has an Occupational Registration Body assessed your qualification as comparable to a New Zealand qualification?
Should I select yes or no

If you hold a New Zealand qualification at levels three, four, five or six on the New Zealand Qualification Framework and you started the qualification before 25 July 2011 please ensure that you select the correct option below. Please read SM14.10.1

What should I select : 7 - 50 points or something else?

Looking forward to get some help

No the qualification isn't an exact match to a qualification off the list.
Yes the qualification has been assessed as comparable to a New Zealand qualification and has been rated by NZQA as equivalent to Level 7 on the NZQF.

You do not hold an NZ qualification of level 3, 4, 5 or 6 on the NZQF so I guess you shouldn't answer this question.

Thank you for the reply!

I have question regarding the qualification and work experience evaluation.

When I go for the full qualification evaluation, will they also do an evaluation of my work experience?

Also, do I have to submit the original employment reference letter and education certificates, or notarized would be more than enough?

There is no work experience evaluation for immigration to NZ by a separate department like ACS in AUS.
NZQA only assess qualifications, however, if you have work experience evidence to support your application it is a good idea to provide it to NZQA as it may mean the difference in obtaining the desired result or not.

If you receive ITA from Immigration then this is the time you will need to provide the evidence to support your work experience claim. Immigration will assess this at the stage of application processing and determine whether or not you can claim the points you have declared on the EOI.

See here for details on documents required. Must be originals.

Yes you can submit EOI based on PAR result and go for IQA later.
The only disadvantage of this is you end up paying more having the assessment done twice and of course more time taken to get the results.
If you go for IQA straight off you pay more up front and the assessment takes longer but in the end you pay less. Disadvantage - if you subsequently don't get through it's much more money and time to waste.

If you have 150 points then this is an excellent score and if migration to NZ is your goal then yes you should submit EOI. With a score of 140 points or more regardless whether you have a job offer or not your EOI will be selected immediately as all EOI's at 140 points or more are selected automatically every fortnight.
Processing of the actual application without a job offer does get delayed over other Resident Visa applications - e.g. an application that does have a job offer. Applications without a job offer aren't a priority and the delay could be 6 months but rest assured at least an EOI of this score will be selected.

BUT....and this is a big BUT....you must be sure that you can claim the points on the EOI.

e.g. If your qualification was gained in Pakistan then it MUST be assessed by NZQA (either PAR or IQA assessment) before you submit EOI. Without assessment you cannot claim the points for the qualification based on your personal guess or opinion. Immigration must have a suitable certificate / report from NZQA to prove the qualification is eligible.
You risk the EOI being returned to the pool with a lower score or being taken out of the pool if the score reduces below 100 points and also you will lose the money spent submitting the EOI.

EOI Qualification/Experience Points

Hi All Experts,

I am preparing for my EOI but I have following question which required to be answered before submission, kindly advice me accordingly.

My main confusion is Points Calculation for Education and Experience.

1. I have done my Bachelor in Computer Science (2 Years) Regular in 1999-2000 Session. As per Pre-Assessment I got Level (5) in NZQA means 40 Points.
2. After my BCS I started my Full time job in October 2005, so I have about 10 Years experience without any break.
3. On the basis of above I can get maximum points for experience.
4. During my job I did 2 Years Diploma in Computer Science which is of Distance Learning. If I need to get Full IQA for this 2 Years Diploma then it will be Level (7) means 50 Points.
5. Is it according to policy that I can get assess my Diploma and get Level (7) in Education and along with continuous Experience of 10 Years?

Thanks in advance
